Pioneer did a lot of work in firmware development to make these unique pad plus modes. The 4 individual channels still work. So i guess i'll have to grab the S4 despite the pioneer being A: a better deal B: sexier C: probably better hardware. But I suggest to sit down and get ready to roll in laughter with my horrible efforts with scratching, but I will show it in the video. But definitely give mapping a shot, it's crazy what you can do after you get familiar with the system. The 4 I currently have set are out functions, one for each channel, mapped to the led light. I have since changed the original mapping and it seems to be working fine for the jogwheel.

Been having trouble with the sync button it will engage but the track seems to go off sync. I can also grab a S4 mk1 for the same price but it lacks that multi layer pad thing, and overally for some reason it looks less appealing to me. We started with a big list of all supported hardware, narrowed it down to a list with a full 8 performance pad layout + 2 parameter buttons and a shift layer and worked from there. I'm still learning to scratch properly so I'm a bit reluctant on uploading a video. They are then post level mixer functions. I'll keep looking for answers, but at least my worst case scenario is the S4 + x1 + my launchpad for the pads. As i feared the pads layers are a pain to work with. The keypads are hard to workout because I can get them to light up but when I press one, all them lights up or all of them dims down.

Ok, little update, i have had a play with a modifier and managed to get it to do the following: Slide the switch to master nothing happens. It would have been brand new from a shop i would have gave it a shot, but i can't take the risk on a used one.
