This is not your average Amish story. She is a nurse practitioner and military war hero, but she is also modest and seeking where God wants her to be in life. Just to make sure I've got my money's worth, I've already re-read it numerous times! Will Grace and Levi be able to find a way through their differences, or are they merely mean to teach one another a lesson, a lesson about opening their eyes towards other communities? I thought, since it looked so good, I should get the book and read it first. As the book progresses, we follow on her journey as she gets to re-know her grandmother and sister after a number of years of absence. It gives the book a depth that many romance books lack.
If give me more understanding of the different Amish Groups. While it wasn't the best book I've ever read I found it to be a rather compulsive read and I couldn't stop flipping the pages. Levi has to take care of his younger siblings, and the farm; Grace comes over to help his mother Claire with the baby, and there is a strong attraction. Well, thanks to Serena Miller's new book, I've gotten my taste of the Amish in a totally new way. Even before meeting Grace, Levi had begun to question some of their teachings. I liked all the characters to a certain degree but Elizabeth and Rebeca the most. I read another book by Serena Miller that was not Amish fiction and I absolutely loved it, so I had a pretty good idea that I would like An Uncommon Grace.

He was falling hard for Grace but knew that he could never be with her, since she was an Englisher. When I became friends with Christian Historical Fiction Author Serena Mi Amish Fiction, both contemporary and historical is a very popular subgenre in Christian Fiction. If only his family had a phone nearby, but since his family is part of the Swartzentruber Amish, they aren't allowed.
This sect of Amish is so strict that that Claire is forbidden to have a relationship with her sister Rose, who has joined the Old Order Amish. The mix of war and Amish life is not one that is commonly encountered. And I hoped with all my heart that these two could find a way to be more than just friends. I have been reading a bit of Amish fiction lately, and I was slightly put off by the circa ten dollar price tag of this book. Will Grace and Levi follow their hearts or fight the attraction between them? An Uncommon Grace is a blend of faith, romance, mystery, and humor, and the author has done an amazing job of blending them.

It is a romance, a mystery, a cultural lesson filled with over all respect and a hint of curiosity. And yet, able to help people she cannot decide whether or not she should reenlist for another tour of duty. It's not a perfect idealistic lifestyle all the time, and that helps to make the Amish feel so much more real, and so much less just a genre of fiction that I enjoy.
That is truly a beautiful testimony of His Amazing Grace and Love! Miller dreamed of making a living as a published writer. Now it's up to Levi to care for his brothers and sister, while his mother and baby fight for their lives. But don't expect a thrilling murder mystery. The author provided a few plot twists that made for a great ending. I found it very interesting to learn more about the Swartzenruber Amish, a sect not often written about in Amish fiction. For those who are fans of Amish mysteries by author Mindy Starns Clark, I can heartily recommend that you give Serena's latest book a try. Yet as he begins to question the strict rules which govern his life, Grace questions her decision whether or not to return to Afghanistan, and the two are drawn together, united by their common struggle.
The main storyline, Amish person falling in love with a non-Amish person, has been a little overdone, but I thought it was very well written. Serena grabs you on the first page with an amazing character personality and them thrusts the reader into a world unexpected and keeps you there until the last. This book explores the life and culture of the Swartzentruber Amish--an ultra-conservative sect that many readers, including myself, have never heard Historical fiction and Amish fiction are my go-to genres all day, every day. Yet now the bishop will allow her to come help while Claire heals and to help with the new baby. He only hoped that he followed the Ordnung good enough and worked hard enough to get into heaven. Just as she is close to deciding, Grace receives an email from her younger sister, Becky, asking her to come home to Ohio to help their grandmother, Elizabeth.
Levi must confront the Bann if he pursues Grace. Hurrying inside, he finds his mother, 8 months pregnant, shot but still alive. It does not mean I recommend all the books by this author. An Uncommon Grace was a good book and I hope the author gives us a little more time with the Troyers and the Conners. I never know what to expect from an author that's new to me, so imagine my surprise when I began reading the Author's Note at the beginning of the book and was immediately hooked. A strong attraction to Grace has him evaluating his life even more but he knows if he follows his heart he will not only be lost to his family but will be destined for hell.
