I understand diagnostics without the scanner is a hindrance but its all that I can do for now. Have the truck inspected by a mechanic or transmission expert. I put a Govoner Solonid and a Pressure Sensor Switch in it and that was the problem. Did you find a solution? There are many other possibilities. Maybe a slim chance, but check the cable running from the shifter all the way down to the point of connection. This could of been a big law suit if I would of gotten hurt.

I have a 2000 Ram 4x4 and my rpm's will go to 3000 before shifting into second but once into high gear it runs fine it also stops hard when you stop like the brakes are locked but this only happens when you first start it in the morning after the first stop everything is fine with the brakes too. The sensor is an inexpensive logical place to start if you want to try something. You could also have a hard failure where there may be pieces of servo in the pan. Otherwise, please take it in to a shop to have them do it because with that code I believe you're on the right track with replacing them.
I don't think so, flagear, although if the output sensor stops working it can cause a whole host of problems - but it usually sets a code. Cycling the power will restore normal operation however, put it neutral and turn the car off and back on and its perfect again till i stop. You may be having a problem with the dash itself or loose power or ground connections. Would it be the valve body? I will really appreciate your advice on this. Tried tightening the nut, but still lacks a quarter inch. If you're doing this yourself, I'm sure you've checked the fluid level. Would the speed sensor cause it to slip. If it's low, then such problems occurs. It would be best for you to have it diagnosed by a professional.

There is also a speed sensor on the trans if it is malfunctioning that could cause a variety of problems including no speedo or odo. That additional 1,000 rpm is what you are seeing on the highway, and since the engine and transmission are not locked solidly together, the engine is free to slow down a lot when you let off the accelerator pedal. . I don't believe this problem is electrical in nature but the grounds and power connections always can use a look over, look for green fuzzys in connections and pay attention to the battery also. Bernard, my vehicle has quite a few problems. They did a reset to the computer and it shifted fine and has since until tonight. Why didn't you let the place you call Advanced Automotive diagnose and fix your vehicle? To troubleshoot these types of issues, check the actual solved problems with these types of issues. I would put the old one back in and see if the speedo starts working again.
