On a vehicle that old, there has to be some brittleness in the hoses and you'll get air leaking past. Good luck, Mary Pozzi The check engine light comes on after a minute or so, but resets when I restart it after it stalls, and then comes back on in a minute. Often, you'll notice an initial hesitation on low-speed throttle application as well. It's best to use a tool to pierce the Wire. Manufactured by Trick flow for Summit.
I lost my Haynes manual or else I would have started troubleshooting it already. Throttle body assembly As you can see from the above diagrams, compared to a carburetor, the tbi is much simpler in design. As we said, the body panels are completely different, but the many different sheetmetal companies such as Year One, Goodmark, Original Parts Group, and many others offer tons of good stuff like hoods, quarter-panels, floorpans, rocker panels, bumpers, and just about anything else you might need. The thing had a minor glitch for a year or two, where at 4 or 6 mph, light throttle, going up an incline, the rpm's would jump up and down at 2 or 3 second intervals. Simply remove the old manifold, drop the new one in its place and install the carburetor. I have pretty much covered everything I think.
The stock fuel system does use a return line, so the fuel pressure regulator will need provisions for this. At wide-open throttle, the computer switches to its base fuel map and the additional fuel pressure will increase fuel flow and assuming the engine needs the additional fuel will increase power. I think it's on the right bank. You can receive a refund by returning a suitable old core. Those wiring defects will send the signal voltage to 0.
I did this a while ago, probably did not catch it due to all the information I gave. No clue if the O2 sensor was ever replaced or not. Since you'll be working in the engine compartment, no need to tell you but I'm gonna' tell you anyway to be alert and be very careful. Actually, mine drops soon as I unhook the loop from throttle shaft. Roller cam parts with pushrods and Distributor for roller cam Levels of cam. No two sensors are ever exactly the same. Have one of these 2 companies bore your stock throttle body out for more air flow.
Tapping on that connector could overcome the bad connection and start that injector working, for a while. A better suspect is spread terminals in the connector, but that usually causes intermittent operation of just one of the injectors. Did you know a stock Q-jet will flow at least 750 cfm? For coil, up to 4500 rpms stock coil just fine. If not, you're looking for something non-electronic most likely but not always that's a non-codable fault. After this in the circuit the computer grounds out the circuit, making it closed briefly and the fuel injectors fire. The tbi esc modules are different between the engine sizes and families. The place to start the diagnosis is always to first read and record the diagnostic fault codes.
If you know of a good cam to help with that torque, I would love that, too. To have both stop working at the same time is not very likely. Another basic adjustment is the backside of the throttle plate as if there's gunk buildup on it, you've got minimal laminar air flow. The big variable is fuel pressure. If the truck accelerates to 60 in less time, the engine is making more power.
There are replacement intervals for this sensor and I think it's around 90K or so. If you want to do more, spend about two hours opening up the exhaust valve throat to 90 percent of the exhaust valve diameter 1. If the sensor's bad, that will also cause driveability problems but not the one s you're describing. I hope that this info is helpful. It sounds like it could be one of a couple things. But if you want to get going, you can always buy bolt-on parts for the Olds 350 like headers, an intake, a cam, and even cylinder heads, and then if you find a 403 at a later date, you can use those parts on the new 403.
This allows you to run a milder roller cam that gives you better low end torque and horsepower and have the same peak horsepower as a cam that will have weaker low end power. Please refer to the core return instructions included with the part or contact customer service for more details. Please run this test and get back to us. Saving a buck can lead to a lot of headaches diagnosing issues and money thrown at changing parts trying to solve the issue. Maybe I need to check the ignition module once more.
